New boss Kim Nam-gi served as an assistant coach at the 1996 Olympic Games. He led Yonsei University from 2002-05, and most of his players went to the Pro League.
He’s not had a coaching job since 2005 but has worked as a TV analyst for basketball games. For his first experience as National Team coach, he has selected several of his former students: Yang Hee-jong, Ha Seung-jin, Lee Gwang-jae, Kim Tae-sool, Jeon Jung-gyu and Bang Sung-yoon. Nicknamed the "Korean Coach-K" because of his specific strategies and coaching philosophy, he loves the motion offense and to hit opponents with a full-court press. His first assistant, Kim Yoo-taek is a legendary center in Korean basketball, having won seven national championships. He can teach a lot of skills to the young guys. His son Kim Jin-soo (19-years, Maryland University) is the future of Korean basketball.
