Career: Carleton Ravens (Canada-CIS, 2004-08)

Doornekamp was selected as the Canadian University player of the year in 2007-08. He led Team Canada last summer in rebounding (6.4 rpg) at the Pan American games, but was left off the roster for the FIBA Americas Championship roster. Doornekamp has a high basketball IQ and is fundamentally sound, but does not have the physical size to handle true international forwards. Although he is a solid rebounder, he made just five of his 22 shots from the floor (23%) at the Pan American Games. The lack of offence and his inexperience were no doubt factors in Rautins’ decision not to take him to Vegas. However, should an injury occur, his versatility would make him an excellent 12th man candidate.
