Career: BEAC Yaoundé (Cameroon, 2001-08)
Jean-Pierre Ellong Ebongue is a 1.85m shooting guard who was born in Douala. Ebongue has played his entire career with BEAC Yaoundé and was a last-minute addition to the Cameroon National Team that played at the 2007 FIBA Africa Championship. He got his break when financial difficulties prevented the Cameroon Basketball Federation from bringing in players from abroad who had been selected. Ebongue likes to penetrate into the lane and create, and he does bring tough, physical defence onto the court for short periods when coach Lazare Adingono needs to increase the pressure. Ebongue, 22, appeared in four games for the silver-medal winning side at the 2007 FIBA Africa Championship in Angola.
