Larry Ayuso scored 15 points in the legendary game won by Puerto Rico against Team USA at the 2004 Olympic Games. This was a very special moment for him as he was born in the Bronx and attended the University of Southern California. He has played in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Lithuania and Croatia. In Puerto Rico, Ayuso won the BSN league in 2005 and 2007 with Capitanes de Arecibo. He has had NBA tryouts, including with the San Antonio Spurs in 2003, but never appeared in a regular season game. He played in the Euroleague this season with Cibona Zagreb, averaging 12.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. A phenomenal three-point shooter, Ayuso drilled 44.5% (37 of 83) of his shots from long range at last year’s FIBA Americas Championship.
