Career: Pinheiros (Brazil, 2002-03), Paulistano (Brazil, 2003-04), Joventut Badalona (Spain-ACB, 2004-07).
Huertas is coming off an outstanding season with Bilbao, his second team in the ACB following a three-years
Stint in Badalona with DKV Joventut. The playmaker led the Basque team to an unforgettable season in which they led the ACB for several weeks and reached the play-offs for the first time in their history. Huertas had the best numbers of his young career, averaging 14.6 points and 3.8 assists in 27 minutes. He finished the regular season among the ACB leaders in points (eighth), assists (eighth) and steals (fourth). Huertas was rewarded with a place in the league’s `ideal quintet’ with Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernandez, Marc Gasol and Felipe Reyes. He played very well coming off the bench for Brazil at the 2006 FIBA World Championship and should garner plenty of time on the floor in Athens after a strong domestic campaign.
