Career: Sagesse (Lebanon-Division A, 1999-2004), Blue Stars (Lebanon-Division A, 2004-07), El Moutahed (Lebanon-Division A, 2004-08).
Roy Samaha started his career with Sagesse Beirut and won four consecutive Lebanese championships at a very young age. In 2004, he moved to Blue Stars in a bid for more playing time. Samaha averaged 9.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in his first season. At 21, he was considered a very promising player but he hasn’t lived up to expectations. At the beginning of this season, he was tested by French side Paris-Levallois, whose club president has Lebanese origins, but he didn’t make the team. He finally joined Al Moutahed and averaged 10.3 points and 7.8 rebounds. Samaha played an average of just eight minutes per game at last year’s FIBA Asia Championship.
