Cameron, the National Team captain, has been a pivotal player for the Tall Blacks since making his debut in 1994. While not a quick player, Cameron is strong and knows how to use his body in the low post. He also does a lot of damage on the perimeter. He was the key man in New Zealand’s run to the semi-finals at the 2002 FIBA World Championship, burying 24 of 67 (35.8%) of his shots from behind the arc in Indianapolis. His performances earned him selection to the all-tournament team. He subsequently won the SPARC Leadership Award at the 2003 Halberg Awards and was also in outstanding form while guiding the Tall Blacks to a silver medal at the last Commonwealth Games. Cameron has won seven NBL titles and individually earned five Kiwi MVP awards. He has played professionally in Malaysia, England, Turkey, Iran and Australia.
