Career: Slovan Ljubljana (Slovenia-Division 1A, 2001-03), Benetton Treviso (Italy-Lega, 2003-05), Udine (Italy-Lega, 2005), Benetton Treviso (Italy-Lega, 2005-06), Toronto Raptors (Canada-NBA), Triumph Lyubertsy (2007-208). Selected in the second round of the 2005 NBA Draft (#58), by the Toronto Raptors.
After a disappointing move to the NBA with the Toronto Raptors, where he got virtually no playing time, the lefty Slokar - a versatile big man who is solid on defence and the boards - decided to end his NBA experience and move back to Europe. This banger found a place in Russia with Triumph Lyubertsy. The former Benetton big man went on to average 8.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 23 games in the Russian Superleague. This shy but talented center will be needed this summer. Last year he averaged 6.8 points but he will need to boost up his rebounding average (1.9 in nine games), and that is a difficult task for a player who seems to have fallen in love with the three-point line (7/12 at the EuroBasket). At 24, the sky is the limit for a player who may be too shy for his own good.
