One of Germany's best big men ever, this will be Patrick Femerling’s last chance to play for a place at an Olympic Games. The 33-year-old center thrived on his return to Germany with Alba Berlin this season. He is a strong, if not athletic, defender, rebounder and shot-blocker. He also hit nearly 75% of his shots during the regular season with Berlin. One of the three Germany captains along with Ademola Okulaja and Dirk Nowitzki, Femerling gives Coach Dirk Bauermann an experienced center who is an excellent passer. He will do whatever the team needs to succeed. He is also a proven winner with four straight league titles in Spain (Barcelona) and Greece (Panathinaikos) as well as the 2003 Euroleague crown. The emergence of Jan Jagla will help Femerling make his fewer minutes even more high quality time.
