At 6ft 9in and 240 pounds, Anthony’s a potential beast in the paint for Team Canada. Anthony played in 24 games for the Miami Heat in 2007-08 and averaged nearly 25 minutes per game following the March trade of Shaquille O’Neal to the Phoenix Suns. Anthony is best known for his defence. He was selected Mountain West Defensive player of the year at UNLV in 2007 after setting a MWC record with 13 blocks in one game. Anthony finished that season with 109 blocks, second best in UNLV history. Anthony played just six exhibition games for Team Canada in 2006. Anthony will give Canada another NBA calibre post player to match up with some of the more physical FIBA teams.
